About
From the beginning of my studies, I have been captivated by the magic of how living beings interpret symbols to unify concepts, ideas, or perspectives. Whether it's a vagina sculpture in a matriarchy chorus, a sound recorded as a note, or the cross symbolized in Christianity, these figurative representations hold unique meanings that either connect or divide us. This magic, beyond our understanding, transcends language and is what I define as art.
For me, art is the combination of sound, hue, selected objects, spatial definition, form translation, and narrative strategy—all expressed through visual language and communicated to the audience. The communication aspect is essential in my works, emphasizing how viewers perceive and engage with the art.
Video, as a versatile and powerful medium, is often used for dogma and propaganda. However, for me, art is not a form of brainwashing but a representation of absolute, free thought and the potential of human spirituality. It serves as an instrument against anything that threatens our spirituality.
Through the study and analysis of the medium, I aim to not only experiment with the possibilities of artistic narrative but also utilize these narrative tools to challenge authority and promote free thought.
Biography
I received my bachelor's degree in photography and multimedia from an art academy in China. During my studies, I presented performances and installations in both China and Europe, exploring various artistic expressions. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for film.
Upon arriving in Germany, I continued my academic journey by focusing on film at the HFBK in Hamburg. Since then, my artistic exploration has led me to experiment with projection mapping, video installations, and various film genres as I push the boundaries of presenting a narrative.
